What's on in Seaford this weekend (26 Sept – 27 Sept)

A special exhibition at Seaford Museum marking the centenary of the death of Harry Harison Evans, a prolific late nineteenth century Seaford artist. It displays many of his meticulously drawn pen and ink images of Seaford, on show during museum opening hours.

A relaxing one hour evening cruise from Newhaven Marina past Seaford Bay to the Seven Sisters cliffs at sunset. Keep an eye out for seals, porpoise and seabirds, often more active in the evening light, and feel free to bring a drink aboard. Runs on Friday and Saturday evenings through the season, with the departure time tracking sunset (8pm in July, moving to 6pm by late September). Up to 11 passengers, all ages. Booking essential.

A 1.5 hour guided boat tour from Newhaven Marina past Seaford Bay to the Seven Sisters cliffs, with the chance to spot seals, porpoises and seabirds. Runs daily through the season with several departures a day (typically between 10:00 and 18:00 in August, reducing to 12:00 and 14:00 by October). Ages 2 plus; group tours up to 11 people; minimum 4 passengers for the trip to go ahead.

West Kent Walking Group lead a classic 13.5-mile coastal walk from Seaford to Eastbourne: a steep climb up Seaford Head, the cliffs to Cuckmere Haven, a refuel at the Seven Sisters Visitor Centre, lunch at Birling Gap and on over Beachy Head. Finishes at Eastbourne Pier; the 12/12X bus links the route. Bring a picnic. £2 for non-Ramblers members.
