About Discover Seaford

What This Site Is

Discover Seaford is a community-run local hub for Seaford, East Sussex. The aim is simple: bring together everything about Seaford in one place — events, businesses, community groups, news, history, and practical information for residents and visitors.

The site doesn't try to replace the many excellent local organisations and websites that already exist. Instead, it links out to them wherever possible, acting as a front door to everything Seaford has to offer.

Built and maintained by a Seaford resident who noticed that local information is scattered across dozens of websites, Facebook groups, noticeboards, and word of mouth. Some of it is at risk of disappearing entirely — several Seaford websites have already gone offline over the years, taking their content with them.

Preserving What's Been Lost

Part of the motivation for this site came from watching some key local websites start to fade and others even disappear. Sites like seaford.co.uk, seaford-sussex.co.uk, and seafordtimes.com hold valuable content about the town's history, heritage trails, blue plaques, and community — much of which exists nowhere else.

Where possible, we're recovering and trying to preserve some of this content in our articles section, so it isn't lost to time.

This isn't the first attempt at a Seaford community website — several have come and gone over the years. Hopefully this one will stay relevant and be kept up to date. The site tries to be updated frequently with events and news, and the business directory is regularly checked and maintained.
