Exceat to Alfriston, 10 miles
A circular walk starting at the Seven Sisters Car Park (payment required), through Friston Forest to Lullington Heath nature reserve, then down to join the South Downs Way to Alfriston for lunch. After lunch the walk follows the river to Litlington and back up to Exceat. It is hilly in places and the river part can be wet and muddy after rain. Difficulty: moderate. A Brighton and Hove Ramblers group walk: the first three walks are free to join, after which walkers must become members of the Ramblers.

Friday Walk: Alfriston-Rathfinny Circular (5.5 miles)
A moderate walk of about 5.5 miles from Alfriston, climbing into open country to the Rathfinny Winery, through the estate with a stop for coffee at their hut, and returning to Alfriston along the river. The walk starts at 10am. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, on lead through the Rathfinny estate.
